Erhardt, active in the Logistics, Steel & Trading, Information Technology, and Insurance & Risk Management markets, held its Annual Convention on February 28 in Bilbao.
The day began with remarks from Rafael Erhardt, Vice Chairman of the company, who announced the incorporation of the fifth generation into Erhardt’s top decision-making bodies, with the appointment of Eugenio Erhardt Barrenechea as the Group’s new CEO.
From this moment, the roles of Chairmanship and executive management are separated: the former will continue to focus on strategy, while executive management will take on the operational management of the Group.
“This evolution responds to the Group’s sustained growth in recent years and strengthens our ability to face today’s challenges and build the future. As a family-owned group, this step consolidates the fifth generation, rejuvenating the executive bodies to drive business evolution and adapt to new times with a long-term vision,” highlighted Rafael Erhardt.
In his first speech as CEO, Eugenio Erhardt Barrenechea took on
“the commitment to project the company into the future while maintaining the values that have defined its history of over 140 years.” He emphasized the importance of generational continuity, recognizing the legacy of his predecessors and reaffirming the fifth generation’s commitment to the company’s sustainable growth. “We do not understand leadership in any way other than through personal commitment, closeness, agility, and action,” he stated.
The new CEO of the Erhardt Group reviewed the key achievements of the Group’s four business divisions over the past year, highlighting significant growth across activities, positive results in all areas, and the company’s internationalization.
Both the Vice Chairman and the CEO emphasized the need to anticipate change and strengthen the integration of capabilities within the company to generate value. With a long-term vision, they reaffirmed the commitment to innovation, sustainability, and closeness to clients, suppliers, and the community.
The day concluded with a talk by Toni Nadal, who, with his approachable and direct style, shared the core principles that shape his life philosophy: effort, self-discipline, humility, resilience, and motivation. Drawing from his experience, he highlighted how these values, together with common sense, have been key in Rafa Nadal’s career and how they can be applied both professionally and personally.
