With the reopening of the warehouse specialized primarily in handling glass, TMGA expands its offering as the preferred logistics partner for the construction industry in the Northwestern Iberian Peninsula.
The reorganization at the Port of A Coruña continues, and now it is the turn of our operations at the Centenario quay, in warehouses totaling 5,900 m², which TMGA had been using to manage bulk cargo—mainly cereals—a function that has now been moved to the Punta Langosteira outer port.
At the Centenario quay, the new focus is on glass, wood, and other general cargo.
Following approval from the Board of the Port Authority of A Coruña to modify the use of the facilities at the Centenario quay and extend the concession period, TMGA began reconditioning the warehouses for their new purpose: handling glass and other general cargo.
The Centenario quay was inaugurated in 1984 to meet the growing cargo traffic at the Port of A Coruña at the time. For nearly 40 years, coal and cereals were the main cargoes handled there, but the current situation has changed. The creation of the outer port and the closure of the Meirama thermal power plant have altered traffic patterns in the area, causing the relocation of some activities to Punta Langosteira.
The recent reconditioning by TMGA included floor reinforcement, installation of two overhead cranes with their loading and unloading equipment, and other improvements.
With these new facilities, glass can now be efficiently received and dispatched by truck at the Port of A Coruña, taking advantage of its excellent connections to the highway network of the Northwestern Iberian Peninsula. TMGA thus strengthens its expertise and reliability in transportation and logistics for clients in the sector.
